In conversation with a guest who came from Melbourne we talked about his favourite places to stay in Victoria. He recommended Boroka Downs in the Grampians, a 3 hour drive from Melbourne. He and his girlfriend had stayed 3 times and always enjoyed the villa style, self contained accommodation. |

| Fallowfield |
|
Andrew & Karyn the owners of Fallowfield stayed at Ruffles and we will always remember them as the 100 percenters. Because when I asked them what their occupancy rate was Andrew said 100%,although up until recently it only applied to weekends. They have not had a free weekend for 5 years, so if you are looking for a cottage for up to 4 couples at Leura in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, then you had better book soon. |

| Longueville Manor (A member of Relais & Chateaux) |
|
We always enjoy our visits to Jersey in the Channel Islands. On our last visit our friends introduced us to Neil and Barbara, the owners of Longueville Manor. Knowing we had a Lodge in Australia they invited us to join them for lunch and gave us a tour of the hotel. Longueville is now run by their children, Malcolm and Susan and would be one of the most beautiful places to stay. We were very impressed with the wonderful atmosphere they had created over the years. It was watching the black swans on their lake that made us decide we should have a pair, especially considering they are a native Australian bird. |

Guests that stayed with us from the UK mentioed that Ruffles reminded them of a beautiful place they stayed at in California, south of Monterey along the Big Sur coast, called Post Ranch Inn. Looking at their website it certainly is a beautiful rugged place. |
