Mt. Warning has one of the most spectacular treks to the 1125 metre summit. It is certainly not for the faint hearted but is extremely rewarding for those who enjoy walking. You should allow 5 hours return from base to summit. The final few hundred metres are very steep and you pull yourself up the slope with a chain attached to the rocks. When you get to the top the effort is worthwhile as the 360 deg view from the huge platform built on the very top is stunning. Many people do it in the early hours of the morning to be at the top and watch the sun rise over the ocean.
