With the opening of the new Motorway, Byron Bay has come within easy reach of Ruffles Lodge for a days excursion (one hour and 15 minutes each way and it will be even quicker once the Tugun bypass opens in 2008).
If you are going to Byron Bay you should also visit the beautiful village of Bangalow and maybe have lunch at Utopia in the main street. For lunch in Byron Bay we can recommend “ Dish” in the main town or “Rae’s” on Watego beach and while there do the beautiful climb to the Lighthouse on Australia’s most eastern point.
By late afternoon you would be back to the peace and tranquility of Ruffles Lodge and in time for an invigorating Spa treatment and dinner.
